Dobbys Dimension is a 2D platformer that features
a jump-and-run system where the main objective is to
reach the goal as quickly as possible.
In addition to classic platforming obstacles, the
game includes enemies that the player can defeat
using a weapon. Defeating enemies rewards the player
with time bonuses.
The player has a maximum of three lives, losing
all of them results in death.
The overall difficulty is not yet finalized.
Certain elements, such as unlocking the goal, are
still in development.
For example, the goal might only become accessible
after defeating a specific number of enemies or
completing certain actions.
Possible level structure:
Level 1–2: Standard jump-and-run levels without
a boss.
Level 3: A smaller level featuring a mini-boss.
The boss can only be damaged after fulfilling a
specific condition, such as, defeating a certain
number of enemies (e.g., 3), or picking up a
specific weapon within the level that enables the
player to deal damage.
Level 4: A dedicated arena featuring the end
boss.
The boss can only be defeated after completing a
certain condition (not yet finalized). One idea is
a mechanic-based system, for example: the player
must use platforming skills to bait an attack from
the boss, jump over it, and reach the other side
without taking damage. Then, the player activates
a switch (e.g., a button or lever), which triggers
a mechanism such as, opening a trapdoor that drops
a heavy object onto the boss, or activating a
finishing sequence (e.g., causing the boss to fall
into lava).
